Drop Off Procedures

Dear Parents/Guardians:                                                                          August 2019

Our greatest concern at school is creating a safe environment for your children.  As you may know, student drop-off and pick-up are very busy times at Godwin School.  Please review the details below to support an efficient and safe drop-off and entry for your children.

  • The Drop-off Zone is available in the morning for your convenience.  To drop off your child, please pull up to the crosswalk (do not stop at the street sign, drive up to the crosswalk) and encourage your child to quickly exit the car directly onto the sidewalk.  PARENTS/GUARDIANS MAY NOT WAIT IN THE “DROP-OFF ZONE” OR GET OUT OF THEIR CAR.
  •  If you prefer to walk your child up to the front stairs, one-hour public street parking is available on East Center Street.  Please avoid blocking the driveways of local homes.  On the first day of school, kindergarten parents are encouraged to wait with their child until the front door opens.
  • All students should enter Godwin School through the entrance at the middle front door (near the crosswalk and school sign).  Other doors are locked for security and safety.
  • Instructional aides will be present the first few days of school to help your child transition into the school building.  Parents are asked to remain outside and allow the aides to accompany your child.
  • The school parking lot (next to the Highland School field) can only accommodate Midland Park School District staff members.  Please do not drive through, stop or park in school parking lot at any time during the day.  Please use one-hour public parking on East Center Street.
  •  East Center Street from the Faculty Parking Lot to Prospect Street (north west) is a One-Way street during school hours.  The road remains a two-way street from the Faculty Parking Lot to Vreeland Avenue (south east).
  • While waiting outside of Godwin School, do not allow your child to play on the grass or hill near the driveway. Thank you.
